Hairspray is the story of a smiling teenager named Tracy Turnblad, a would-be performer who hopes to gain a place on a neighbouring TV series called the Corny Collins Show. The show is actually based on a Baltimore-based series called the Buddy Dean Show in Baltimore, Maryland. If you enjoy London’s West End, then find London theatre tickets at knock down prices online.

Tracy is nameless in the dancing circle when she auditions, even so she is selected for one of the performing roles and with long odds turns out to be a dancing superstar virtually overnight. Tracy is ecstatic with this new reputation, & she makes a decision to use her recognition to make positive developments to the program. The major grounds for these positive improvements is related to race. Tracy aspires to racially merge the TV show, & as one may perhaps guess, she is met with a significant amount of disagreement.

Hairspray went to London’s West End in two thousand and seven, opening for press at the Shaftesbury Theatre on October 11, before being revealed to the paying public at its official opening on October the thirtieth, two thousand & seven. The musical play has had some famous actors — Michael Ball plays the part of Edna Turnblad, Tracy’s mother, offering marvellous rendition in this demanding female position, whilst Mel Smith played joke shop proprietor Wilbur Turnblad, Tracy’s father. The original cast in the West End features newcomer to the theatre stage, Leanne Jones, in the main position of Tracy.

Hairspray the musical play has got a lot of encouraging remarks from critics and theatre enthusiasts alike. Jacqueline commented: “I have been to the play four times to date & I will be going back again at some point next week & a few more times after that. I love the theatre show & wish they could stay on a great deal longer. Ben Ellis is very good as link & Leanne Jones as Tracey & Michael Ball, well they are all simply astonishing. The theatre production of hairspray is definitely my favourite, its cheerful and if you are feeling a tad bit dejected then it is certain to make you feel so happy. I definitely give it a ten out of ten – I love it congratulations to everyone concerned.

Hairspray the musical is playing at the Shaftesbury Theatre throughout two thousand and nine, get theatre info & acquire your tickets on the Web.

Over the last few years the United States Government has come under fire for its handling of the those prisoners taken during the war on terror. The United States of America was attacked on September 11, 2001 by enemies of the American People; International Terrorists. Since that date the authorities in charge or protecting the American People have made significant progress in rounding up International Terrorist insurgent sleeper cells both in the United States and in countries throughout the world.

Once captured these prisoners or detainees have been interrogated using a number of methods, which have come under criticism by a few. Some of the interrogation techniques have been psychological in nature and others have been said have crossed the line and perhaps could be considered torture. Yet at the same time many detainees have caused serious physical harm to soldier guards. In one incident a US Marine was stabbed thru the eye and into the brain with a shank.

What we need is a truth-making machine, which compels the enemy to tell us the truth, so we no longer need to use more manipulative or forceful techniques to gain the intelligence needed to save innocent lives. If a detainee knows information, which will help us prevent an International Terrorist Attack anywhere in the world, we need that information and time is of the essence and therefore we need to spend the money in R and D to bring these devices to fruition as soon as humanly possible. Think on this in 2006.
